Micah Gardner is a songwriter, musician, fisherman, and tour guide who is a local fixture in the Islamorada area of the Florida Keys. Micah’s music is a mixture of reggae, bluegrass, pop and folk, from which he forms an earthy, breezy style all his own. Micah calls himself a survivor of the changing world of the Keys, one who can “live the dream, go to work in sandals and come home to a kayak, a happy dog, and a cold beer.” He composes most of his music sitting on the dock after late night gigs, performing around the Keys and sometimes at the local Sparrow’s Nest Tiki Bar, his dog Pepper sitting front stage by his side. Micah, what a talent who just keeps getting better. I love his lyrics. They touch the soul, with a very powerful mesage, like "Blink". The video link at the end of Micah's paragraph above is a performance on" You Tube" for "The Hurricane Song". But I have rough copy of the original title "Shutters". That was fun being in on the sessions when he wrote that one. I am so glad to see him back when he returns from the road. I just love being able to pull up somewhere order an adult beverage here in the Upper Keys, and find my adopted "little brother" playing one of my favorite songs! God I love this place!

For years, Micah has turned a normal evening of food and music into an unforgetable experience. during my time in Islamorada as both a waiter and bartender I have heard on more than one occasion from tourist that he is a major reason why the keep coming back, well that and the beautiful water. Micah IS the original Barstool Sailor. He has even gotten a following here in Luperon, Dom. Rep. Cruisers love him. Keep it up Micah! Love ya brother.

My favorite musician in Islamorada... It's great to go listen to someone who plays original music with a positive island vibe! Anyone who comes down should check out one of his shows. I am partial to the Saturday night show on the beautiful beach at Pierre's/Morada Bay Restaurants.
